It's a turn based RPG heavily focused in the story. The story can sometimes be quite confusing, as you play the role of a girl that lives as much in her dreams as she does in her real life. If you decide to embark in this journey, you'll find a moving and deep story that's totally worth it.I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and even if you're not too keen on the combat style there are a few posts in the boards with builds that make it a lot easier.So Winter Voices is not fast paced, action packed or modern looking, but for me the touching story is good enough that makes it up for it. With the game being free nowadays there is no excuse not to try it, imho.. Winter Voices is one of the few games I've played that takes a different route when it comes to the use of rpg mechanics. While the game plays fairly similar to other rpgs out there, however the mechanics within give this game a unique feel alongside it's gloomy, yet relatable story. You control a young woman who goes through her own thoughts and memories and instead of fighting, you defend yourseld with a variety of emotional and mental skills which can give different benefits to the character herself or her surroundings. While the game is heavily slow in pacing, it makes up for its mechanics which give this a game a interesting and emotional trip into the world of Winter Voices.. A truly strange game with nice crafted Graphics. But it;s certainly not for everybody. And there is a BUG in the game.. If you have a smaller monitor with resolutions to 1024x768 than do not play this.. From a hight resolution it playes and looks good...On lower resolutions you miss part of the screen. No matter what settings you use.I'd rate this (strange) game in overall i think a 6,4 out of 10, but that is perhaps because there is such a nasty graphics glitch... Not a game i would really recommend. You decide.... The story seems interesting, the "battles" are intriguing but the game glitches too often where the enjoyment does not win over the frustration. I was able to get up to episode 3 before a big glitch occured and I decided it was not worth it. I wanted to really enjoy the game but having to quit after every few battles to prevent crashes is an unenjoyable task when attempting to immerse yourself into the story. Though I logged in over 15 hours, a good portion of that time is replaying dreams sequences that glitched or crashed on me over and over again.. Horrid and clunky interface, pretentious and self-indulgent storyline.
